Carers & Energy Bills Research Project – Get Involved

At Care Full we’re trying to understand better how caring for someone affects your energy bills.

About You

We want to hear from you if you help support someone who wouldn’t be able to manage without you. It could be because they are seriously ill, have a mental illness, are disabled, have a learning disability or are elderly. You can be young or old and you don’t have to be the only one supporting them.

We’re looking for lovely Scotland and Wales residents to talk to us about their lives. We want to hear from people who rent or own their home. Live alone or live with other people. Are in paid work, are a student, are a volunteer, are disabled or not able to work or are unemployed.

We’re trying to find out how you’re managing your energy bills. Do you need to have fans on during the summer? Do a lot of washing? Or need to keep the house warm during the winter?

Are you struggling to pay your bills? Do you worry about your bills so don’t always turn the heating on?

Then we’d like to hear from you. 

We are working with Carers Trust who want to raise carers’ voices up, to highlight the challenges carers face due to high energy bills.

The Ask and The Offer

We’re holding 45 minute interviews with carers and you’ll receive £30 either in supermarket vouchers of your choice or cash. 

The interviews can be arranged online or over the phone at a time and day that works for you.

We’ll create a friendly, safe and confidential space where we’ll talk to you about the cost of energy, the impact this is having on you and the people you support as well as what you think can be done to improve it.

About Us

Hannah and Ruth started Care Full in 2024 to see how they could bring together their personal experience of being carers with their professional experience of being researchers and campaigners to get people to think differently about care and what we need to do to enable us to care for ourselves, one another and the planet.
